We are starting with a wonderful mix of HST, squares and rectangles to make the block below:
The block is 12.5 " finished.
Basic Instructions
- Be sure to read the instructions through before starting.
- All seams are ¼”unless stated.
- Placing fabrics right sides together will be indicated by RST in the pattern.
Cutting Instructions
Cut the shapes above from 3
solids fabric.
Sewing Instructions

Making
HST
Using the 3”
squares (a) match RST colour 1 to white and colour 2 to white. (b) draw line diagonally
across one of the squares. (c) sew ¼” on either side of the central line. Cut
the central line and trim the HST to 2.5” (d). Make the number of each set
below:

HST
Taking 8 of the
colour 1 & white HSTs join them to form 4 flying geese blocks:
1 Constructing
the block centre
Take the 4.5”
square colour 1, the 4 colour 3 rectangles and the 2 colour 2 HST and join in
the following order, grey arrows first then green:
Add the outer border:
When pieced it looks like:
