Plush Addict

One of the best things about being a sewing teacher is being able to buy fabric for classes!

I get to buy lots of different types of fabric and often I buy things that don't suit my taste, but my students turn them into amazing items!

I am always on the lookout for new places to buy fabric and to be able to recommend to my classes. Over the last week I have ordered from a shop I have been following for a while on social media - Plush Addict.

They have a wonderful range of wonderful fabrics including all the latest designer ranges.

I needed a whole collection of Kona Solids for a class I am teaching tomorrow. We have been making wonderful cushion covers with a eight point star. The fronts have a mix of pattern and Kona solids.

I hadn't realised that Plush Addict carried all 277 Kona solids until last week when I managed to get hold of some much needed Bone. They delivered the order so quickly I knew I had the right place to order fabric for my class.

So on Friday morning I started shopping - £89 later I put a quick note on the order saying I needed the fabric by Tuesday morning did they think I needed to pay for tracked deliver.

To my delight the bundle arrived on Monday morning with a wonderful note and a bag of sweeties!

So pleased with they service and the selection they carry!

At the moment fabric fabric shopping is a window shopping exercise - apart from the 4 FQ I bought from M is for Make last week.

But it doesn't stop me having a wish list that I really MUST have.....

This is Hand Drawn Garden by Anna Marie Horner, who is one of my favourite designs. The colours are so vibrant and lush! I am still hoarding Field Study for a new quilt design I have in mind. They are all so pretty!

I am a slightly obsessed hoarder of Sweetwater fabrics, OK so I am a major hoarder! I have a basket just for Sweetwater fabrics!

This week on a lot of the blogs that I read I noticed that there is day dedicated to visiting your local quilt shop.

I haven't seen anyone in the UK posting about their local shop, but I thought I would!

My favourite local shop in Country Threads in Bath.

Bath is the most beautiful city I have ever visited, so many gorgeous buildings and things to see. Plus I am a Jane Austen fan, so I have been drawn to the city for years - even though she actually hated the place!

Country Threads is a treasure trove of fabrics tucked away in one of the little streets, and when I mean treasure trove I mean a quilter paradise!

Jan has a serious amount of gorgeous fabrics tucked away in an amazing, bright and huge room hidden in the back of the building!

Can you tell it is my favourite place?

Last week when I had my panic about the course this Saturday, I planned on visiting Jan on Saturday to get a jelly roll - any excuse to visit! But snow and sick children put my plans on hold!

Luckily Jan has a wonderful online shop, and she ships the same day! So my jelly roll arrived safe and sound yesterday so I could get working on my demo quilt for Saturday:

What more can a girl ask for?

The quilt is being quilted and I am not showing you any more until I have finished it!
