Over the last few weeks I haven't been fabric shopping in the traditional quilters sense. I have been buying prepared for dyeing fabric - loads of cotton velvet, cotton organdie, silk and cotton lawn!
So yes, technically still fabric, but not my usual shopping habits of gorgeous quilters weight, designer fabric... starting to drool now!
I need patterned fabric for my classes, so I can't afford to let my stash run low whilst I am concentrating on my City and Guild Course. This is where stash clubs like the wonderful Sew Solids Crew comes in!
Simply Solids is my favourite place to buy Kona Solids. Justine is super fast at getting fabric goodies to my door and she is lovely! Need I say more?
Last year I was part of the Sew Solids Crew for solid colour and I now have a wonderful stash of colours, some of which I would not have bought for myself but have come very handy. This year Justine has launched a mixed club - a mix of solid colour and textures basics, which is a wonderful combination at a great price.
It also means my stash will stay topped up even if I am off experimenting with Procion Dyes!
Go check out the new clubs, they are great value for money and the best way to build a quilters stash.

Sunday Shopping #2
I am still window shopping - rugby club fees and rugby kit comes first at the moment!
But window shopping for fabric is so much fun...... honestly it is...
First this week is the wonderful new collection from Denyse Schmidt - Florence:
I love all of Denyse Schmidt's fabrics, but this collection is really making my heart skip a beat! It all looks so pretty and would be perfect in my secret stash basket to be used on something amazing!
You can get it from (just remember to send me some!):
The Village Haberdashery
The Fat Quarter Shop
Hawthorne Threads
Another design that has caught my eye is Mod Girls and Mod Guys by Michael Miller Designs:
They are both full of fabulous, quirky prints and my boys would love the Mod Boys range. Just check out the ties - so much fun!
You can get these from:
Hawthorne Threads - I really like the Urbanista palette here, yummy greys, blacks and whites.
Fat Quarter Shop
Last up today is Petite Street by Wendy Kendall:
This collection of loveliness is made by Dashwood Studios, a UK based fabric design company. It is always good to support local - especially when there is fabric this yummy being produced!
Lynne from Lily's Quilts made a gorgeous quilt a couple of weeks ago using this line so go check out how lovely the fabrics look in a quilt.
You can find Petite Street:
The Village Haberdashery
Eclectic Maker
Brighton Sewing Centre
A lovely group of new fabrics, don't you agree?

Going all Turquoise!
As you know I have started my orange stash building with my bundle from M is for Make, and I have added to it with loads of solids from Simply Solids... the orange goes really well with grey and turquoise!
So today I have been collating my favourite turquoise fabrics:
Kaffe Fassett can't be wrong with this gorgeous Turquoise Spots from Saints and Pinners.
This Mod Century Tweed Texture from Fat Quarter Shop is great for adding texture to a quilt.
I love this from Cloud 9 at Backstitch. Fabulous triangles getting busy!
A slighty different but very funky selection of this Kokka Fabric called Hello on Blue from M is for Make.
The are a gorgeous selection of Turquoise..... which colour next for my stash building?
