Sunday Shopping #8

Good Morning!

Sorry I have been gone so long....

Last Sunday I was frantically finishing my City and Guilds Module 1 which I passed (huge sigh of relief!) and we have had a half term week with music lessons, family illness and a birthday quilt to start - more tomorrow.

So here are some fabulous fabric collections that I have found in the last couple of weeks - happy shopping!

First up is Bluebird Park by Katie and Birdie for Moda. This is a fabulous collection of really gorgeous fabrics in three different colour ways. They all make me smile! You should also check out their website which is full of beautiful images and designs.

You can get it from:

Backstitch - coming soon.

I have a growing affection for spots and this range of wonderful spots from Robert Kaufman fits the bill nicely! Spot On is a huge range of different sized spots!

My favourite ones are:

I love that there is a fabulous choice of sizes available as well as loads of colours!

You can get it from:

The last one for this week is Nested Owl from Adornit:

It is sooooooo pretty! And everyone loves owls at the moment! I love the Coral colour way, but the Charcoal collection is amazing too!

You can get some from:

Hope you like them, they are all sooooo pretty!

We are off out for a morning of rugby today then an afternoon of lesson planning - the craziness of classes starts again on Tuesday!

Happy Shopping!

Sunday Shopping #5

The week has flown by again.

We are currently in the middle of an illness bug that is doing the rounds at the boys school, so I have been busy working, Scouting and look after them. Roll on week 2...

So shopping....

No I haven't been spending pennies again but I have been window shopping!

First up is a bundle I bought a couple of weeks ago from Alice at Backstitch. Alice has the most amazing selection of Klona solids. I love Klona solids because they are perfect as a solid colour in quilts, plus I use them for my classes when teaching pouches, purses and clutches.

My supplies were running low so I got this amazing bundle of colour:

Backstitch, Bright Bundle

This made me gasp with joy when I opened it. The colours are amazing!

Backstitch has a wonderful new website and if you order from it this month you will be entered into an amazing giveaway so go visit!

This next collection of fabric is a must have on many quilters lists. In all honesty is growing on me and I think I might need some for my stash so when it has worked itself into a pattern I will have it ready!

Briar Rose by Heather Ross is a lovely collection of fabrics with delicate designs. I would need a little girl to make a quilt for......

You can get Briar Rose from

The Village Haberdashery
The Eternal Maker
Fat Quarter Shop

Hope you like exploring these 2 collections of fabric.

I had planned on updating you on my City and Quilds progress on Friday, but completing as much of first embroidery sample as possible took all of my child free time! Check back tomorrow and there should be some progress pictures!

Sunday Shopping #4

I had a fun week last week getting fabric for a quilt for a lovely friend who is 18 next year.

You may remember that I made a quilt last October for my friend Lily who was turning 18. Well, when I delivered the quilt Lily's twin sisters put in their orders. Luckily they aren't 18 until next year.

Becca loved Angela Walters first collection, but I missed out getting bundles. Plus I was put off by the panel.... I just didn't know what I would do with it. When I spotted Legacy by Angela this year I knew it was perfect. This week I found a wonderful bundle at a new-to-me shop, Stash Modern Fabric:

Legacy by Angela Walters

It is an absolutely beautiful bundle, plus they had a wonderful bundle of coordinating solids which will make designing a quilt so much more fun!

Pure Elements solids
I can't wait until it arrives! Sometimes I wish I could teleport over the pond to be able to collect the fabric in person...

You can get Legacy at these wonderful stores:

Stash Modern Fabric
Fat Quarter Shop
Hawthorne Threads

I have a slight obsession with Tula Pink.... it is more like a massive obsession!

So her new and totally fabulous collection Acacia is on my MUST HAVE SOON list:

It is so fabulous:

My only issue is that I need to save up to buy the entire collection, I just can't choose a single colour way!

You can get them at these wonderful shops:

The Village Haberdashery
Fat Quarter Shop
Hawthorne Threads

Hope you like these 2 collections.

Happy Shopping!

Sunday Shopping #3

This week I have taught 5 classes, at 4 locations, in 3 days!

That is 45 people starting their sewing journey in of my classes!

All this activity has led to a HUGE hole in my fabric stock...I mean huge!

So this week I had to go fabric shopping, otherwise we will all be sewing thin air next week!

First I visited the lovely M is for Make - one of my favourite online shops for gorgeous collections and superb costumer service. There was a fabulous email in the week about the sale section so I headed straight there and filled my basket with these goodies:

Blossom Festival
Floral in blue
Running Stitch in Purple
I also got this in Pink! So lovely!

Stitch Square in Red
I also got some Comma just because I LOVE THIS!

I did buy more, but these are my favourite ones. They will be perfect for my classes.

Visiting M is for Make again today and discovered even more great fabrics in the sale section.... just working out if I can afford to stock up on more!

I also wandered over to The Village Haberdashery to check out their sale section:

Beechwood Park Picnic in Green
Beechwood Park Sunkissed in Aqua
In the Forest - Flowers
I also got some lovely Kona Glacier so I can start Noah's quilt for his Birthday in November using this lovely collection I bought a little while a go. Just thinking about the design of the quilt, Noah wants triangles of some sort.....

Feeding an addiction!

I know, I am addict and I need to feed my addiction.... there are many worse things in the world to be addicted to than fabric!

Last week my bloggers bundle arrived from Fat Quarterly shop and it has some amazing fabrics. The bundle was put together by Angela Pingel who has a blog called Cut to Pieces.

Among bundle there are these wonderful glasses from Geekly Chic:

I love them! They are so cool!

This one from Urban Mod is really funky!

It is such an amazing bundle and one of the reasons I am part of the Bloggers Bundle Club, so many wonderful fabrics together in way I struggle to put together using just computer images.

Yesterday Brenda from Pink Castle Fabrics posted a picture of this bundle of fabrics:

Woodland Fun

They are so lovely..... I couldn't get them out of my head all day.... so I just had to buy them....

Addiction to fabric is a might fine thing you know!

On a another note, I am going to be taking part in the Let's Get Acquainted New Blogger Hop 2013 over at Plum and June. I am really excited to be included!

Plum and June

There are going to be lots of lovely bloggers in the hop, so make sure you check them out whenever you see the badge above!

State Side Shopping

When I bought the fabric from Angie's Quilts for my first Tova - which I love by the way - I also bought some yardage from a shop in the States that I hadn't heard of before, Hawthorne Threads.

I had seen the name in a blog post I had been reading and obviously being a fabric addict I had to investigate!

I was not disappointed!

They have masses of fabric, I mean every collection under the sun and then some more!

I spent ages just scrolling through all of the pages, trying to decide if I could afford to shop...

Then I clicked on the sale section ....... OMG, I think I actually gasped!

It is packed full of gorgeous fabric at amazing prices. Plus they had a whole load of Tula Pink's Prince Charming which I wanted to back my bee quilt when I finish the missing block:

I have searched high and low for enough to back the quilt, so finding enough to do it meant I just had to shop...

I knew I wanted more Tovas so I started looking for other fabrics and I decided on these 2:

Graphic Mums by Heather Bailey

Birdy by Tanya Whelan
In all I ordered 10 yards, enough for a shirt, dress and quilt back. It worked out at $9.2 a yard which is £5.99 a yard, including postage. Just can't beat that for top rate cotton from the best in design....

My wonderful bundle arrived on Friday and was actually opened whilst chatting to the lovely postie, and the birdy fabric has already been transformed into a shirt that was worn all day Saturday!

GO and check out Hawthorne Threads, they are simply awesome!

Shopping for a Tova

This weekend I took the boys up to see a fabulous family friend, the lovely friend who I made the pixelated heart for.

I discovered that a quilt shop had opened. I am a fabric addict so obviously I need to visit all quilt shops I can find... right?

Well Angie's Quilts did not disappoint!

It is a lovely bright shop full of gorgeous fabrics, including all the new lines like Comma.

The space is well lit and there is plenty of fabrics, organised in colour order - which I love!

Angie is a lovely quilter, with loads of experience. She holds classes in the shop on fabulous tables.

Once I was there I cam across some gorgeous cotton cross weave fabric from Moda.

I bought a turquoise weave, which feels like linen, but shouldn't crease like linen. I matched it with a basic from Art Gallery Fabrics in a bright pink for the collar - it is going to look soooo pretty (I hope!)

I really enjoyed chatting with Angie and I will be visiting her shop again when I am next up that way.

I will keep you updated as to my progress! The mock top is looking lovely and alterations I made to pattern have worked too!

Window shopping....

.... actually more like screen licking...

At the moment I am a total fabric shopping ban - rent comes first I guess...

But I have been liking the screen at some of the new stuff I have spotted popping up in my favourite shops. I just love torturing myself with newsletters from the shops concerned that make me hold my breath and swear!

So...

This is Woodland Pine from Sarah Watson and is available at M is for Make. I seriously need the whole line in my hands. They are all just amazing!

I mean look at this Drops of Clay... yummy!

I keep seeing Shelburne Falls on peoples blogs and I have fallen in love!

Backstitch has this wonderful bundle that would be perfect in my stash....

I love Comma by Zen Chic, and this one in particular! The Village Haberdashery has a lovely selection.

At first glance it is a modest wish list, but  must add that I want all of Comma, all of the wonderful fabrics by Sarah Watson and all of Shelburne Falls..... not so modest really!

Purples

This last week has been birthday week!

First mine and then mini who was 5 yesterday and we spent the day at a play centre - manic craziness in a steel roofed building! This morning is is birthday party. I always go small on birthdays.

It is one present from each of the family and 5/6 children round for a party. The presents are always much longed for gifts that don't cost the earth, but I know they will play with. So mini got an amazing police and robbers Lego kit that he really wanted. Now is it is cops and robbers in our house!

Before I have to ice the cupcakes and tidy the living room - I know it is a futile effort, bit they can't do musical statues on a floor covered in Lego - I thought I would go window shopping for purples!

For some reason I have very little purple... I don't know why, and at my classes they are used up if I do happen to have some. So here are some purples from the UK shops I love:

Crosshatch in Plum
This Crosshatch is from the Architextures range at M is for Make. I absolutely adore this, I love lots of the range, but this design is lush!

Pearl Bracelets in Grape Jelly
A completely different shade of purple from The Village Haberdashery, but just as lush! The pearl bracelets look like an amazing collection and I love the colours, but I am definitely drawn to this purple which is really unusual for me!

Turn of Events - Plum
This flowers call to me - they are just flo.ating! They are from Backstitch and the Innocent Crush collection by Anne Marie Horner. Purple but with depth!

Floating Mums in Purple

Another floral fabric, but I do love those big flowers! This is from The Eclectic Maker and again is so full of depth. It is by Philip Jacobs and is yummy!

Co-ordinates Midnight

This one is from the wonderful selection at Saints and Pinners. It is another Anne Marie Horner design, and I love the arrows within furry circles....

So more window shopping! Hope you like them!

I have to go and tidy away a ton of Lego....
